Burning since 1901, the Centennial Bulb has earned the Guinness Book of World Records blessing as the world’s longest burning lightbulb. Since leaving the Shelby Electric Company 115 years ago, this extraordinary bulb has been covered by everyone from CBS, ABC and PBS, to The BBC. Usually considered a prime example of quality construction, the bulb is now used to argue against corporate greed and planned obsolescence.
